My digitally made art journal page for the Valerie's 'Geometric forms/shapes' theme at Art Journal Journey.

I cut puzzles from my earlier made digital works; the face in the last one is my hand painting. I made the box for the text that I typed on it. I sett all onto the background, which I made with the water topic images and framed the work.

Tein tämän digikollaasi/art journal-sivun teemaan 'Geometriset muodot/kuviot'. Leikkasin aiemmin tehdyistä digitöistäni palapelin muotoiset kuviot. Viimeinen on käsin maalaamani. Asemoin ne vesiaiheiselle tekemälleni taustalle muiden kuvien kanssa ja kirjoitin tekstin sekä tein sille kehyksen. Viimeistelin kollaasin kehyksellä.

Olen vedenneito/I'm a Mermaid

Uudestaan veden maailmaan, nyt merenneidon mukana. Tämän  piirsin/maalasin A5 muistikirjani sivulle värikynin ja käytin myös mustaa kynää.

Täällä ei todellakaan ole nyt kesäinen sää. Otin aamulla lasin läpi kuvan keittiön ikkunasta ja huoneiston vastakkaisesta suunnasta parvekelasin läpi näkymästä  talon pihalle 😨Ei enää kivaa...

My colored pencil and black pen drawing/painting that I made on my note book's A5 page for the theme ''Painting in spring colors".

Here it's not spring or summer, at all. It's unusual that the winter came back in late April.

I took a couple photos through the windows, and weather is not nice as you see

Lumpeenkukka-neito/Waterlily maiden

 Värikynätyö 14x20 cm. Vielä eivät jäät ole lähteet, mutta vappuun mennessä niin on yleensä täällä etelärannikolla tapahtunut. Kesän ensimmäiset veneilyretket tehtiin aikoinaan yleensä silloin  ⛵🚤

Sitten ei mene kauaa, kun meillä lammet ja järvet saavat lumpeet koristeekseen ja jatkavat kukintaansa iloksemme koko kesän.

My colored pencil painting of 5x7,5 inches.

Our waters are still covered by ice, but until May the first it normally leaves here on the southern coast, and the winter storage of bouts ends, and the bouting time  starts ⛵🚤

Then beautiful waterlilies cover soon ponds and lakes, and we can enjoy the beauty of them. Also my waterlily maiden of the painting can enjoy the spring and summer with little birds and us.

My digitally made fantasy page, which you can interpret in your own way. 

I tried to visualize the fact that we all are someway trying to catch something in our life. 

I emphasized the drama with light and shadow effects and some filters. The image material is from my files saved from different sources. My design was made with photoshop elements.

As you see there are  several faces, so I link my work at the Nicole's Friday Face Off Challenge this week.

'Hyvä saalis'

Voit tulkita työtäni tavallasi. Omani on yrittää ilmaista visuaalisesti, että kaikki jollain tavalla tavoittelemme elämässämme jotain; kukin meistä omalla tavallaan.

Tein fantasiani digitekniikalla tehostaen draamaa valo- ja varjoefekteillä sekä filttereillä. Kuvamateriaali on eri lähteistä tallentamaani aineistoa arkistostani. Käytin Photoshop elementtejä asettelun tekemisessä.

Koska kuvassa on kasvoja, linkitän sen 'Kasvot'-teemaan; ne voivat olla muidenkin kuin ihmisten.

Playing with geometric forms and shapes

There are many geometric forms and other shapes in this nostalgic digitally made art journal page for Art Journal Journey theme this month.

I composed the layout with old Itkupilli-images and freebies, and made the background with lot of overlays including squares. Then finished it and typed the quote with my computer.

Kauris kevätväreissä/Maalaus 3/Deer painting

Leskenlehdet jo kukkivat. Ovat aikaisimpia kevätkukkijoitamme; 

jo huhtikuussa joillain alueilla.

Maalasin muistikirjani sivulle, skannasin ja kehystin. Tämä saattaa olla sama veijari, joka pelästytti minut pahanpäiväisesti pari vuotta sitten sauvakävelylläni. Hyppäsi yllättäen nenäni editse polun yli pusikosta metrin päästä. Taisimme pelästyä kumpikin 😊 

Menee Teemakuun Kollaasit huhtikuun keväinen 'Maalaus'-teemaan. Nyt on sitten lunta luvattu etelä Suomeenkin 😏

My 'Deer' painting for the theme 'Spring Painting'.

I painted the deer in spring colors with colored pencils on my note book page, scanned and framed. The fellow could be the same that frightened me once during my Nordic walk, when jumped over the path just under my nose. May be we both were scared 😊 

Coltsfoot is blooming here in Finland even in April, but now it's forecasted snow for the weekend 😏

You can say things without words

 I started this digital AJ collage design using my earlier digitally painted face portrait. I've painted it with digital painting tools. I designed firs the shapes which I used on a b/w face image. Then I chose the colors and painted the shapes and other part of the portrait with digital painting brushes.

  I tell above, because I'd like you know that digital art is not same as 'artificial intelligence' AI, which is not in my opinion, art at all. Digital art means that you use your own intelligence, skills and artistic view. After that I added other shapes onto the portrait, and start to make the AJ page for its BG. I chose the background paper and added on it the round figures in different colors.

I finished the AJ page typing the Georgia O'Keeffe's quote.

Tämän AJ-digikollaasin tein teemaan 'Geometriset muodot'. Käytin siinä aiemmin digitalisesti maalaamaani muotokuva-työtä. Olen suunnitellut ja maalannut digisiveltimillä m/v kasvokuvalle geometriset muodot ja värit, jotka olen tehnyt digityökaluilla. Olen lisännyt vielä muita graafisia kuvia pohjalle. Digitekniikka ei ole sama kuin 'tekoäly'. Sanon tämän siksi, että viimemainittu ei ole mielestäni taidetta, ja digitaiteessa käytetään omaa älyä ja taiteellista ja digitaalista taitoa. Sitten aloitin tekemään uuden taustan edellä mainituille, ja valitsin ensin taustapaperin ja sille eri värisiä ympyrän muotoisia kuvioit arkistostani. Viimeistelin työn kirjoittamalla mietelauseen: 

'Huomasin, että voin sanoa asioit värein ja kuvioin, joita en voinut sanoa millään muulla tavalla; asioita joille ei ollut sanoja.' - Georgia O'Keeffe.

Hyvää alkavaa uutta viikkoa.

My hybrid piece made with the portrait , which I've painted using acrylics.

Now I made digitally the background for the page with overlays, which include geometric forms and shapes as circles and the rectangle. I wrote on it 'This is my happy place', and framed the whole work with the square form mat frame.

'Penni ajatuksistasi'

Hybridi-työni teemoihin 'Geometrisiä muotoja' ja 'Kasvot'.

Näet kasvokuvan, jonka olen maalannut akryyleillä ja nyt tein sille digitalisesti taustan, missä näet ympyröitä sekä suorakaiteen, johon kirjoitin 'Tämä on lempipaikkani.' Neliömäinen geometrinen kehys viimeistelee työni.

Hyvää keväisen lämmintä viikonloppua toivotan meille kaikille 🍃

Metsälammelta/From the forest pond

 

Maalasin tämän kostein sekä kuivin värikynin A5-kokoisen muistikirjan sivulle. Käytin lisäksi valkokynää. Paperi on melko ohutta ja värit tarttuvat kuivina aika huonosti. Liiallista kosteuttakin piti varoa. Skannasin valokuvan suuremmalle alustalle. Olisikohan tyyli impressionistinen 🤔

Keikkuen tuntuu kevät tulevan tänä vuonna...

This is my colored pencil painting. I used both wet an dry pencils and a white pen. The paper of the A5 notebook is quite thin, and coloring quite challenging.

Gothic arch and other geometric forms

My hybrid art journal page for the challenge theme 'Geometric forms' at Art Journal Journey.

You see in the center of the picture a Gothic arch, which is  known in the Church architecture. The arch include lines and other geometric elements as rectangles. 

The center of the picture is earlier handmade, and now I made digitally a new background for it with geometric forms:  lines and the heavy black frame in the square form. I finished the work writing the Gandhi's words and made the rectangle with the frame around it.

Hybridi-työni menee teemaan 'Geometriset muodot'. Goottilainen kaari on  kirkkoarkkitehtuuriin vakiintunut kaaren muoto. Siinä näkyy geometrisia elementtejä: viivoja ja suorakaiteita. Olen tehnyt käsin keskeisen kuvan, ja nyt tein digitalisesti sille uuden puna-musta-valkoisen geometrisiä elementtejä kuten viivat ja kehyksen neliömäisen muodon sisältävän taustan, 

sekä kirjoitin tekstin tekemälleni suorakaiteelle.
